Each year, members of more than 1,000 Fab Labs from around the world come together to share, collaborate, explore and, of course, manufacture. In August 2016 the meeting was held in Shenzhen, China, a city of historical importance for technological manufacturing.

Overview
The 2016 International Fab Lab Conference and Symposium brought together members of the global Fab Lab network in Shenzhen, China, a major hub for technological manufacturing and innovation. The event provided a space for Fab Labs worldwide to share knowledge, collaborate, and explore the future of digital fabrication.
The project focused on creating a dedicated website to provide information to the attendees before, during, and after the event.
My role in the project
I collaborated with the Fab Foundation on the website’s design and development. Using the visual guidelines and graphic elements provided by the organization, I designed the front end and implemented a content management system (CMS) to simplify website updates and content administration.
The Challenge
The website needed to centralize essential event information while remaining easy to maintain and update. It also had to serve as a lasting resource after the conference, allowing attendees to revisit presentations, images, videos, and other event-related materials.
The Solution
I created a website that combined a clear interface with a flexible content management system. The front end adapted the Fab Foundation’s existing visual direction, while the CMS enabled straightforward content updates and the publication of event resources.
The result was a dedicated digital platform that supported the event’s communication needs and extended access to its content beyond the conference itself.
